Mridula, I read the Kontiki voyage a very long time ago (when I was in school)...I barely even remember it.. But you know what the pic reminds me of? The icthyosaurus, the Professor and his student Axel encounter in "A Journey to the Center of the Earth" by Jules Verne.
I have only read Around the World in 80 Days and Five Weeks in a Ballon (half, as I picked up Love in Time of Cholera) by Jules Verne. Will try and pick it up sometime. I wish public library became a concept in India too. These days we just seem to be getting Malls but it is demand and supply I guess.
